Dear Friend, The Power-Book Library will turn you life around or propel you along your current path faster than you can imagine. Hello, I’m Stephen Pellegrino and I appreciate you stopping by my site. I don't have a rags to riches story. I can't say that I know what's it like to be poor or to really want for the necessities of life. I grew up in a middle class family in a small town in south central Pennsylvania. I was the salutatorian of my high school class (fancy word for "number two"...), was voted "most likely to succeed", got a Naval ROTC scholarship and became a United States Marine after graduating from Penn State. I left the Marine Corps after ten years and was a consultant and civil servant. My life had revolved around "knowing" stuff and being "right". This got me good grades in school and mild success in life, but I finally figured out that experiencing, doing, and Being were more important than "knowing" stuff and that being "right" does not equal being happy nor is a way toward fulfilling your potential for authentic personal development. While successful by most standards, I was adrift deep in my soul and spent several years working through life purpose and career books trying to find my "purpose." I believed that I could do anything that I wanted, but just didn't know what that was. Leading a relatively comfortable life, it took me quite a while to mount the comfortable crisis required for action. A voracious reader my whole life, with hundreds, if not thousands of books filling bookshelves in my house, I thought that the best way to hone in on my passions would be to examine which books I had actually read cover to cover, if not multiple times. Which books were dogged eared and highlighted with notes in the margins? As an overachieving former Marine, it should be no surprise that it was books on leadership, psychology, and personal development (to include a book case on religion and spiritual traditions.) A classic series of books, the "Power-Book Library" by Frank Channing Haddock, rose to the top of all and best connected all these dots. When I had first bought an old edition of the "Power of Will", I was instantly drawn to its incredible depth and practicality. I scoured old book stores looking for the rest of his books and collected them all, each building from the prior. The Power-Book Library spans the spectrum of personal development from "basic" information and exercises (though still unknown to most) to what should be considered a post-graduate, if not doctoral level. My "comfortable crisis" of purpose resolved itself. Universal forces were clearly mounting to have me bring back the profound yet practical wisdom of Frank Channing Haddock and the Power-Book Library. I now understood "exactly what to do and how to do exactly that", ironically the stated method of the Power-Book Library, to fulfill my potential and more importantly to best serve the millions of people who have access to the Internet (completing the rest of the library, workbooks and audio is next...). Again ,this dovetailed perfectly with my personal credo for years, which had been (and still is): "Pay attention, take responsibility, expect results and serve." The ultimate goal of the self as stated in the last volume of the Power-Book Library, Creative Personality, is the complete, harmonious realization of your physical, financial, mental, and moral possibilities. Additionally, this site will continue to grow to include all of the classic personal development texts I can find (or link to.) Mr. Haddock is not the easiest person to understand sometimes, and perhaps other authors will resonate with you better in the beginning. It is more important that you begin to immerse yourself with the common message that all personal development authors speak of than it is to wed yourself to anyone particular one (although you don't want to dig dozens of shallow wells either....) I am terrifically excited about resurrecting the Power-Book Library and what these books, and other similar resources here can do for you individually and mankind as a whole. Please let me know what you think of the books, this site and anything else I can do to help. Dedicated to Your Success,
Stephen Pellegrino
